design storytelling

Interface with 300+ reporters and bloggers, based on event style, as the industrial design team representative. Engage by answer questions, building excitement and communicate relevant information the consumers need to know about design and evolution of innovations.

Objective:

  • As the industrial design team representative, my role was to share our design process and rationale for product, cmf and our viewpoint on consumer led design. Concurrently it involved sharing relevant industry trend projections, design evolution details and key consumer data pointing to color rationale.

Preparation started 1-2 months prior to the Long Lead Events (LLE) and was on top of my cmf responsibilities on other programs.

  • Communicating with Brand team on design rationale summaries in shared documents to help formulate details needed for event planning. Reviewing details with Legal team to understand where the boundaries are for NDA. Connecting with each discipline on the design team involved with the program to align on important details.

  • Stepping outside the Hardware team and connecting the design story across company discipline was inspiring to see the full scope of launching a product. By the 3rd LLE I was able to quickly build the necessary talking point for the Hardware Design marketing pitch relevant to each unique event style and pivot quickly to added content upon request.

hardware editorial

After years of work documenting design discipline guidelines, the task at hand was to transform the process based information into editorial style content worthy of coffee table style book.

  • Lead editor of CMF content, formatting the guideline content for application in publication format. Created imagery assets, developed sections and collaborated on layout for overall organization.

  • This is was full Hardware Design team effort working collaboratively with internal key work-partners in CMF, ID, Developer, UI, Packaging and Prototyping. And externally aligning the outcome with our production agency Hybrid reviewing production proofs.

  • Learning and refining my skills working across a myriad of formats; samples, digital documents, hardware and print. Making sure the original intent translated from concept to production.

Objective:

tradeshow reporting

Objective:

Stay connected with consumer mindsets across an inclusive array of industries in order to make informed projections on design decision in form and cosmetic. The data analysis was used both internally for teams as well as for client reporting and alignment meetings.

  • Within the design team I was responsible to attend global lifestyle consumer trade shows across the US and abroad. I attended the shows, identify key vendors for future material collaborations, gathered samples and tangibly documented the event in order to create a summary report for the broader company. Based on the year I was on location for 3-7 shows annually.
